This year, Toonz Media Group reached a significant milestone, celebrating 25 years of creativity, innovation, and global impact. The grand celebration held on November 22 in Thiruvananthapuram was a day to honor the past, celebrate the present, and envision a future of endless possibilities.

 

A Moment of Reflection and a Vision for the Future

 

We were honored to kick off our 25th-anniversary celebrations with an inaugural function that brought together our team, industry partners, and local dignitaries, aligning with the spirit of Kerala’s progressive policies that support innovation and cultural growth. It was a moment of pride to see how our work is woven into the fabric of this vibrant state.

Adding to the significance of the day, Smt. Sarada Muraleedharan IAS, Chief Secretary of Kerala, acknowledged Toonz’s pivotal role in shaping Kerala’s Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) sector. She remarked, “Toonz has been a global symbol of innovation and creativity,” while reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting the industry through the recently unveiled AVGC Policy.

 

Honoring Excellence and Dedication

 

The celebration was a platform to honor the exceptional contributions of individuals who have shaped the AVGC sector. National Award-winning animator Joshy Benedict, renowned for his work on A Coconut Tree, was recognized for his outstanding creativity. Similarly, Ashish Kulkarni, Chairman of the FICCI AVGC-XR Forum, was applauded for his visionary leadership in advancing the industry.

In addition, the 25 Years’ Service Award was presented to honor long-standing dedication within Toonz. CEO Sri P. Jayakumar, along with Ashok Kumar B, Harikumar K, Vasanth Kumar S.K., and Prakasan U.K., were celebrated for their invaluable contributions that have propelled Toonz to where it stands today.

It is exciting to see that with the AVGC policy in place, the government sector is increasingly engaged with the industry, paving the way for favorable policy decisions and meaningful reforms.   The policy underscores the importance of infrastructure development, talent cultivation, and expanding market access—paving the way for Kerala’s AVGC sector to thrive on the world stage.
